Scientific Programme

The scientific programme will include Plenary Lectures, Key Note Talks, Oral Presentations and Poster Contributions. Oral Presentations will be chosen on the basis of the abstract peer review process.

The sessions will be organized on the basis of the abstracts submission and according to the Conference Topics.

A special session will be considered for the presentation of the main results of some of the main important EU projects that are running in the area.

A very special attention will be paid to communications coming from the industrial sector, whether in the form of oral presentations, posters or during special sessions such as the one related to EU projects. This objective will be in mind of the Organizing Committee members, particularly for encouraging the participation of SMEs.

Information for the Oral Presenting Authors

The time allocated for Oral communications is 15 minutes, plus 5 minutes for discussion. Please prepare your presentation accordingly. The files format may be either MS Power Point or PDF.
In order to avoid last time surprises, please give the file with your presentation with one day in advance.

Information for the Poster Presenting Authors

The recommended size of the poster is A0 (1189 mm x 841 mm), "portrait" format. If you need more space, the maximum dimensions of the boards are 1500 mm high x 1200 mm wide.
Posters for Session I should be placed on the board preferentially on Sunday 7th, during the Registration.
Posters for Session II should be placed on the board Monday 8th, after the Reception Cocktail.

Important Note: Due to the limitations of time, the Organizing Committee decided to cancel the flash presentation scheduled for the applicants for the EMS Best Poster Presentations. In substitution, all the authors should present their work directly to the evaluation panel, during the respective Poster Session. The guidelines for the evaluation are the same as described in the Conference Awards.
